#NaPoWriMo2019 Day 0: Self Portrait as Cupid

Source: Pinterest.com

They told me I was silly,
Playful and jolly,
Mischievous too,
But in reality,
I was lonely,

“You are just a boy,
In this cunning world filled with ploy,
And deceitful coy,
You only know joy”,

They know it’s not true,
I am the one and only love guru,
Spreading desire like the morning dew,
Giving hope like the sunrise view,

Not even a goddess can escape,
From my arrow love shall shape.

#NaPoWriMo2019 Day 0 prompt: we’d like to challenge you to write a poetic self-portrait. And specifically, we’d like you to write a poem in which you portray yourself in the guise of a historical or mythical figure.
